Our client is looking to recruit a Solicitor for their Parliamentary/Planning team.
Acting in relation to all aspects of the town planning process – including planning applications and development control, local plans and forward planning, enforcement, highways and footpaths, compulsory purchase and compensation and judicial review. Members of the team regularly appear at local planning inquiries and at DCO examinations – both promoting and opposing and acting as advocate.
Working as part of a team in drafting, promoting, opposing and advising on legislation, both in and outside Parliament. This work will primarily be in relation to the authorisation of infrastructure projects ( including the promotion of the HS2 Bill), advising on related law including in particular environmental, planning and compulsory purchase law and negotiating agreements with objectors, attending public inquiries and Select Committees.
Advising on the full range of environmental law matters, encompassing contaminated land, pollution of water, air emissions and green energy – particularly in relation to projects affecting major infrastructure, industrial sites, ports, railways and airports.
