Due to continued growth our client is looking for an experienced Paralegal to work in the Court of Protection department in their Birmingham office. They are also open to receiving applications from Newly Qualified Solicitors with an interest in this field.

 

The Department

The Court of Protection is the judicial body in England and Wales responsible for managing the affairs, assets and estates of anyone who does not have capacity to manage their own finances.

The team has a strong reputation in dealing with the full range of Court of Protection services including deputyship services, gifts, Enduring & Lasting Powers of Attorney and replacing deputyships with private trusts. They have dedicated departments located in Newcastle, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and London that provide a specialist nationwide service.

The Role

This is a superb opportunity for you to develop your career within an established and innovative environment. Post-holders can expect to deal with clients, draft documents, progress the litigation process and attend court.

The successful candidate will have a wealth of experience as a Paralegal within Court of Protection, or be a newly Qualified Solicitor with Private Client experience. You will be a team player with strong communication skills and an understanding of client care. Experience of working in a legal environment is a given, and you will also require an understanding of office procedures, along with a pro-active approach and the ability to work on your own initiative, managing your time to meet deadlines. A professional telephone manner with strong attention to detail and sound IT skills are also essential.
